Office, Cario Cabinet and Painting

In the place I call my own, I have a Cairo Cabinet and a Painting. Why are you talking about this Gadget Guy? This is something you might be thinking. Well, let me explain.

Cairo Cabinet

We will start with this item. My grandma Jenkins had this in her house. She didn’t want it anymore, so she dragged it out to the pile that was supposed to be burned. They lived on a farm back in the day. My dad saw it, grabbed the tractor and trailer, and brought it home.

My parents had this in the living room for the longest time. Now that both of my parents are gone, I get it, which I am happy about. I like it, and it looks nice, but it does what it needs to do.

Painting

Sitting above the Cairo cabinet is a painting. You might not think anything of it, but this one was painted by my grandma Hodgkinson. She was a good artist. My parents’ house had several paintings that my grandmother painted.

I do have another one that she painted, but it isn’t featured anywhere in the house yet. I only wish I had gotten more paintings.

Glad

I am glad that I got something from both of my grandparents to remind me of where I came from. It adds to my office and gives it a bit more of a personal vibe. Well, that is what I am thinking anyway.
