When you think of cloud storage do you think of the clouds above us? You wonder how they store information in them.
What is cloud storage
One might ask ones what is cloud storage and why should I use it? That is a good question and hopefully I will be able to answer those questions for you.
Some might refer to cloud storage as storing files in the clouds and how do you do that?
No, that isn’t how you do it. The files aren’t stored on clouds. The cloud is just a bunch of servers in several data centers storing your information. That you can access from anywhere you have an internet connection.
The providers, that provide access to their servers for you to use for your files. They are responsible for keeping the data available and accessible to you. You pay a certain fee according to your usage.
Cloud providers
There are a lot of providers out there that will give you cloud storage for a price. I will talk about the following options:
- Dropbox
- Google Drive
- iCloud
- One Drive
There are more than just the ones listed above, but those are the ones I use.
